Welcome to Teen Summer Programs

Where Can a Teen Summer Program Take You?

Teen Summer ProgramsHow about paradise! Adventurers from all parts of the globe are attracted by the exotic sailing, diving and cultural opportunities the Caribbean has to offer. Sail Caribbean’s teen summer programs are in the British Virgin and Leeward Islands. This is where gentle trade winds blow and skies are sunshine-blue by day and star-sprinkled at night. Get ready to feel warm crystal-clear waters perfect for sailing, snorkeling, watersports and scuba diving. Experience the island way of life on land and explore the surrounding seas above and below the waves.

The Thrill of Living on a Yacht

No experience is necessary on Sail Caribbean teen summer adventures! Our students live with others their age aboard a 50ft. yacht as part of a 2-5 boat fleet. As our staff members teach lessons in sailing, teens become a tight crew, and everyone makes lots of new friends along the way. Life onboard depends on teamwork. Students take their turn as captain, navigator, and mate. Throughout this voyage of personal growth, our staff captain acts as mentor making sure that learning, responsibilities and fun blend into a perfect balance throughout the trip. Before long, the teen crew becomes self-assured and begins to take on all the daily tasks. Running the boat and handling the responsibilities that come from living aboard is a major accomplishment and a source of pride. It gives students the confidence to eagerly face future challenges.

Make a splash!

teen summer programsWe make sure that teens who join Sail Caribbean summer programs take full advantage of their surroundings. The water is so transparent it’s impossible not to jump right in for watersports like wakeboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, and tubing. Snorkeling is a fascinating look at underwater life. For those who are interested, this is a chance to go even deeper and try scuba diving for the first time. Scuba certifications are also available on our teen summer programs. We offer PADI courses and specialties from the initial Open Water certification to Divemaster, the first professional certification. Sail Caribbean dive instructors are enthusiastic experts familiar with all the local dive sites. Our dive boats are equipped with all the comfort and safety features to make our scuba adventures the very best.

Focus on Serious Adventure

While most Sail Caribbean participants are high school age, there are programs for middle school and college students too. We have early, mid and late summer offerings from 12 to 24 days long. Programs can be combined for longer stays. Each program group has a different focus. Time spent on sailing, diving, watersports, marine biology and community service varies according to focus. Optional courses are offered for those who want to enhance their experience.

There’s no deadline to sign up – if there’s space available we continue to welcome teens aboard. Take the initiative and join the crew on a program that matches your interests and will help you meet your personal goals.
